The story

The call

In 1917 a regiment formed on the streets of Harlem. Men who could not vote in half the country that asked them to die for it.

The line

France gave them a trench America would not. They held it for 191 days without relief — longer than any American regiment in the war.

The name

The men on the other side of the wire started calling them Hellfighters. The name outlived the war. This series begins there, and asks what it would take for one man to earn it alone.

Questions

The 369th Infantry Regiment is real, and so is nearly every number on this page. The Hellfighter himself is not — he is a character built on top of that record. Where we invent, we invent forward from what happened, never over it.

January 1, 2027. Episode one lands on New Year’s Day. The list gets every reveal between now and then, and the episode the moment it is live.

Adult animation. It sits in the same room as a war film — depictions of combat, of the racism these men faced at home and in uniform, and of what that costs. Handled with weight, not spectacle.
